Body of Work #7

comments
  1. The text book weren't very clear.
  2. Everything sounds easier in print.
  3. When the chest was cracked evrything was not all just there and easy to see
  4. The body didnt gicve off a pleasnt smell.
  5. The instructors weren't very hands on.

Questions

  1. Why werent the teachers more invoved?
  2. Were they attempting to make the student more independant?
  3. Was the course going to become more difficult?
  4. Where they going to vistit other labs?

  2. Sutures- a piece of material used to close a wound or connect tissues, e.g. catgut, thread, or wire
  3. Cervical- relating or belonging to the cervix of the womb

Overview

  1. this chapter just spoke about the different parts of the cadaver and the difficulties facing the students.

  1. When the body was open she got even more nervous
  2. She felt slightly sick.
  3. Her other classmates were extremely nervous to.
  4. The smell of the lab made her sick thinking about it.

Questions

  1. why would she want to be a doctor if the though made her nervous?
  2. why did she start to become a doctor so late?
  3. would her teachers make a lasting and influential impression?
  4. how many bodies would she disect in medical school?

  1. Clavicle- the long curved bone that connects the upper part of the breastbone
  2. Sternum- the breast bone
  3. Xyphoid- a section below the sternum

  1. "...stif as a rock."

  1. This section spoke mainly about her feelings about the disection again.

Body of Work #5

Comments
  1. Upon seeing the techniques that she will have to use she becomes very nervous.
  2. When seeing the cadaver she may have to dismatle she sees her grandmother.
  3. The sawing to bone smells like a denti's office.
  4. Her cadaver had no hair.
  5. The lack of hair on the body helped with the depersonilization of the body.

Questions

  1. Was she second guessing medical school?
  2. Did she have a phobia of dentists?
  3. would she have prefered to have her cadaver appear more human like?
  4. Why was her textbook more specific about proceedures?
